How HR software can help your team notice the right candidates

Companies that are conducting searches for new employees know that it is not always easy to find the right individuals. HR teams must be organized and understand what type of candidates will be best-suited for all open positions.

This is where comprehensive HR software solutions can be beneficial. Not only can human resource teams clearly see which departments are profitable and which might need further assistance, but they can ensure that they are devoting the right amount of time to in-person interviews. When HR managers are not bogged down with paperwork—such as payroll or 401(k) forms—they can spend more time searching for new employees.

Human resource teams want applicants to notice their firms, the same way that applicants want to get themselves noticed by a potential employer. Some will even go to extreme means to stand out from the crowd. According to a recent CareerBuilder survey, HR executives have encountered very unique approaches during interviews.

For example, one respondent said an individual gave a resume on a chocolate bar while another said an applicant volunteered to help out with making copies when he saw interviewer’s assistant was getting frazzled.

“Employers typically aren’t looking for the most outrageous candidate, they’re looking for the best fit,” Rosemary Haefner, Vice President of Human Resources at CareerBuilder, said in a company press release. “Thinking outside the box is great, but the stunts that work best are the ones that showcase your relevant skills and abilities.”

Having the right human resources software solutions in place will give the interviewer an opportunity to stay focused and ensure that the best applicant is chosen for an available job.
