Every organization is different. We take the time to understand the environment before determining what should change.
About A
Decisions Made With the Business in Mind
HR Software Solutions was founded on a simple belief:
HR technology should support the business and its people—not drive decisions simply because the technology can.
We help organizations navigate complex HR technology decisions with experienced, independent guidance grounded in the realities of HR operations, HRIS, implementation, and organizational change.
From selecting the right technology to leading implementations and supporting organizations after go-live, HRSS helps clients make better decisions, manage risk, and create HR technology environments that deliver lasting value.
Experience From the Client Side of the Table
HR Software Solutions was created from decades of experience working at the intersection of HR, technology, business operations, and transformation.
That experience has reinforced an important lesson:
Successful HR technology initiatives are rarely just technology projects.
They require organizations to make decisions about their processes, data, governance, roles, priorities, employee and manager experience, and ultimately how HR will operate in the future.
HRSS brings that broader perspective to every engagement.
We understand the implementation partner’s role—but we also understand the responsibility of the organization implementing the technology.
Our job is to help protect the client’s interests, keep business outcomes at the center of decisions, and ensure the organization remains an active owner of its transformation.
HR Knowledge Meets Technology Experience
HRSS brings deep experience across HRIS strategy, system selection, implementation, project leadership, vendor management, testing, optimization, and post-production support.
That experience includes work across complex HR technology environments and major enterprise platforms, including Workday.
But platform expertise is only part of the value.
Understanding how HR actually operates is equally important.
We bring together HR knowledge and technology experience so that conversations aren’t limited to:
“Can the system do this?”
“Should the organization work this way?”
“What problem are we actually trying to solve?”
“What will this mean for employees, managers, HR, and the business?”
“Can the organization realistically sustain this after the project ends?”
Those questions often determine whether an HR technology investment ultimately succeeds.
Start With the Business
Before recommending technology, changing a process, or designing a solution, we work to understand the business need.
That means understanding:
Why change is needed
What outcomes the organization is trying to achieve
What is working today
What is not working
What employees, managers, HR, and leaders need
What should be preserved
What risks need to be addressed
What the organization can realistically support
Only then should technology decisions begin.
This philosophy is the foundation of how HRSS approaches consulting engagements and the methodology behind the HRSS Selection Method™.
Your Business Needs Come First
HRSS approaches HR technology decisions from the client’s perspective.
Our recommendations are based on the needs, priorities, constraints, and desired outcomes of the organization—not on selling a particular software platform.
That independence allows us to ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and help clients make decisions they can confidently support.
The objective isn’t to select the most impressive technology. It’s to select and implement technology that is right for the organization.
Sometimes the most valuable contribution is identifying the question nobody has asked yet.
Large HR technology initiatives contain hundreds of interconnected decisions. We help create the structure needed to move those decisions forward.
Completing a project isn't the same as achieving the business objective. We keep the reason for the initiative visible throughout the work.
Our role is not to make decisions for the organization. It is to provide the expertise, structure, perspective, and leadership that help the organization make better decisions.
How We Work Matters as Much as What We Deliver
Customer Focused
We start with the needs of the organization and the people it serves.
Value Oriented
We focus effort and investment where they can create meaningful business value.
Quality Obsessed
Details matter. We bring structure, accountability, and disciplined execution to our work.
People Centric
Technology is only successful when it works for the people who depend on it.
Better HR Technology Through Better Decisions and Stronger Partnerships
Our mission is to help organizations make better HR technology decisions and turn those decisions into successful business outcomes.
We build trusted partnerships based on experience, transparency, accountability, and mutual respect.
Our goal is not simply to help clients implement technology.
Our goal is to help create HR technology environments that support their people, enable their businesses, and continue delivering value long after the project ends.
Lauren DeFilippo
Founder, HR Software Solutions
Lauren DeFilippo brings more than 25 years of HRIS experience, including extensive experience leading and supporting complex HR technology initiatives and more than a decade working with Workday.
Her career has included HR technology strategy, system selection, implementations, project leadership, vendor management, testing, optimization, and post-production support.
Working both within organizations and alongside implementation partners has given Lauren a perspective that shapes the HRSS approach today: successful technology initiatives require strong client ownership.
Organizations need someone asking not only whether the technology is being implemented correctly, but whether the decisions being made will ultimately work for the business and its people.
That philosophy became the foundation of HR Software Solutions and continues to guide the company’s work with clients today.
Your HR Technology Journey Doesn't Have to Start With a Vendor.
Whether you’re evaluating new technology, preparing for an implementation, navigating a project already underway, or looking for greater value from your current environment, HRSS can help.
Start with the business challenge. We’ll help you determine what comes next.
